Corações Sujos
In 1945, while the world believed Japan had surrendered to the United States, marking the end of World War II, a different narrative unfolded among the Japanese community in Brazil. For eighty percent of them, Japan had emerged victorious, and the notion of defeat was dismissed as American propaganda. Those few who acknowledged the reality faced persecution, with some even being hunted and killed by their fellow countrymen, igniting a new, internal conflict. “Dirty Hearts” is a gripping thriller intertwined with a love story, narrated by the wife of a fervent believer in Japan’s supposed triumph. She gradually witnesses her diligent immigrant husband transform into a killer, as their once-strong love story disintegrates.
