All American High Revisited
In 1984, a time before the advent of cell phones, the internet, and reality television, a young filmmaker embarked on a project to capture a year in the life of a typical high school in California. The outcome was “All American High,” a refreshingly candid and amusing portrayal of teenage life in the 1980s. Narrated from the perspective of a foreign exchange student, the film offers an unfiltered glimpse into the senior year during an era characterized by big hairstyles, punk culture, and parachute pants. Three decades later, some of the original participants return for new interviews, reflecting on one of the most unforgettable periods of their lives.
