Do you recall? Last summer, Illinois was grappling with a string of peculiar murders. At each crime scene, authorities discovered a drawing of a house, which turned out to be the site of the subsequent murder. However, detectives were unable to identify the houses in time, and the killings persisted, growing increasingly brutal until someone recognized the latest drawing as the old Wilson farm in Monroe. As the story begins, a policewoman named Crawley is being questioned by an unseen superior. She struggles to recall the events that transpired at the Wilson farm. She recounts that she was patrolling the area and rushed there, aiming to learn what the owner knew and to evacuate him. Instead… what unfolded was… if only she could remember…
