Jonathan, a naive student from the Midwest, forms a friendship with his sophisticated roommate, Skip, who guides him through the complexities of their new environment. Encouraged by Skip, Jonathan ventures into the cocktail bars of Chicago in search of mature women. There, he encounters and becomes romantically involved with the captivating Ellen, only to discover she is Skip’s mother. Their friendship is strained even further when a cheating scandal erupts at their school.
