Grace and Gravity
Gravity & Grace might represent Chris Kraus’ final, spirited endeavor in pursuing an artistic career. Kraus is widely recognized for her novels, including I Love Dick, Aliens & Anorexia, Torpor, and her latest, Summer of Hate. She is also known for her art criticism, such as in Video Green and Where Art Belongs, and for her role in publishing personal narratives through the Native Agents Series by Semiotext(e), which she established. Before turning to writing, Kraus was involved in the arts as an artist, actress, and filmmaker. She created short, experimental, low-budget films and one feature-length film, Gravity & Grace, whose commercial failure is thoroughly documented in her book Aliens & Anorexia.
