Maqroll, Ilona, and Abdul all share a mutual aspiration: to journey across the globe on a tramp steamer. However, the cost of such an adventure is beyond their reach. Over time, they have drifted apart. In Panama City, Maqroll, a smuggler, is neither thriving nor content—until the tropical rains arrive, bringing with them Ilona, his friend, lover, and accomplice. Meanwhile, Abdul, in Morocco, has discovered a suitable steamer for their plans. In Panama, Ilona and Maqroll embark on a new venture, chasing after elusive riches. Yet, destiny has more surprises in store for them.
