After experiencing both the passing of her father-in-law and a divorce, Jesse, a resident of New York City, relocates to a small town to live with her mother-in-law, who is now a widow. Jesse finds it challenging to integrate with the local residents, who are less than welcoming. She forms a connection with the local pastor, who is also her widowed brother-in-law, and falls in love with him, much to the community’s disapproval. The situation becomes even more tangled when her ex-husband reappears, suspiciously attempting to win her back. Caught between her romantic entanglements and complex family dynamics, Jesse is put to the test as she searches for where she truly belongs.
