Misunderstood

In Rome, 1984, nine-year-old Aria finds herself caught in the turmoil of her parents’ impending divorce. Her immature and self-centered parents are so absorbed in their careers and extramarital relationships that they neglect Aria’s needs. Unlike her two older sisters, who receive plenty of attention, Aria is met with cold indifference. Despite this, she longs for love and affection. At school, Aria is academically gifted but is seen as an outsider by her peers, leaving her misunderstood. She finds solace in her cat, Dac, and her closest friend, Angelica. However, after being cast out from both her parents’ homes and abandoned by everyone, including Angelica, Aria reaches her breaking point and makes a surprising choice about her future.
