Phi ha Ayothaya
Historical records indicate that in 1586, King Bayinnaung led his forces through the Malamao Strait in Tak province to launch an invasion of Ayutthaya. After a series of relentless battles, Ayutthaya eventually succumbed to the Burmese army from Hongsawadi in 1569, losing its independence. The downfall of the Ayutthaya Kingdom remains a mystery. Some speculate that the “Black Death,” which decimated the population, was to blame. Others pointed fingers at ravenous spirits or a plague brought by the Portuguese. However, the true cause remained elusive until the deceased inexplicably transformed into a type of undead known as ‘The Black Death,’ who fearlessly attacked and devoured villagers, leaving even the monks powerless to banish them.
