Plagued by the scars of his past and wary of what lies ahead, fourteen-year-old Juhani finds himself at a secluded boys’ home called The Island. For the past six years, Juhani (played by Niilo Syvaoja) has been moved from one foster home to another, making the hope for a stable life seem like a distant memory. Upon arriving at this remote refuge for troubled teens, Juhani is unaware of the true harshness of the superintendent, Olavi Harjula (portrayed by Tommi Korpela).
