Villaviciosa de al Lado

Villaviciosa de al Lado is a tranquil town that seems frozen in time, relying solely on the reputation of its 200-year-old spa. However, the town faces financial ruin as city hall’s debts threaten to shut down the spa. Hope arrives when Mayor Anselmo and the city council discover they’ve won the Christmas Lottery. Their joy quickly turns to dread when they learn the winning ticket was distributed by the local brothel, sparking suspicion among the wives and fear among the husbands. This is exacerbated by a TV interview in which Mari, the brothel’s owner, suggests that nearly all the men in town will benefit from the lottery. Desperate to claim the prize and save the town without incurring their wives’ wrath, Anselmo, Ricardo, César, Juandi, and Paco devise a plan to steal the money from the brothel. Meanwhile, Mari attempts to reconcile her complicated life and honor the memory of her late father, a former mayor.
