When Pigs Fly
Marty (Alfred Molina) is a struggling jazz musician with vibrant aspirations of achieving fame, but for now, he’s barely scraping by, earning a modest income by offering music lessons to uninterested students. His occasional girlfriend, Sheila (Maggie O’Neill), works as a barmaid at the Rose of Sharon, a local tavern owned by the fiery-tempered Frank (Seymour Cassel). One day, Sheila retrieves an old rocking chair from the pub’s storage and gives it to Marty. He soon discovers that the chair is inhabited by two ghosts: Lilly (Marianne Faithfull), a middle-aged woman, and Ruthie (Rachel Bella), a spirited young girl who seems to hail from the early 1900s, while Lilly is from the present day. These friendly spirits bring a touch of mischief to Marty’s life with harmless antics, but the situation takes a grave turn when Marty learns that Lilly was Frank’s wife, whom he murdered in a violent outburst. With Marty’s assistance, the ghosts plot their revenge.
